About
Korea, from inside the deal.
The publication
Republic of Capital is the English-language source on Korean capital markets, private markets, and the industries reshaping them — AI and semiconductors, K-beauty and consumer, biotech and platforms, and the sectors taking their place beside them. The publication covers public equity, private equity and venture capital, IPO mechanics, M&A, and the cross-border capital flows that move through Seoul.
Korea is the most undercovered major market in English. Republic of Capital exists to correct that.
Editorial principles
Finance-first. Every essay leads with a substantive financial question, observation, or insight. The reader should learn something concrete about markets, valuation, or capital structure from every published piece.
Honesty about limitations. Where analysis carries uncertainty, it is named. When precedent points in different directions, both directions are surfaced. Conclusions are presented with the underlying confidence the data actually supports.
Original-data principle. Every essay includes at least one piece of original analysis, table, or chart that did not exist before publication. Pure commentary on others' data does not earn a slot.
